Mimamoru-ie is currently in preparation (we are starting small and learning as we go). We are already happy to hear from you.
Mimamoru-ie (mimamoru)

Come as you are,
to a home where you feel safe.

Even with an illness or disability, even with no family to rely on. A home where nurses check in on you, so you can keep living in the neighborhood you know.

About Mimamoru-ie

A place to live and nursing check-ins,
together.

“I’m ready to leave the hospital, but I have nowhere to go.” “I can’t rent an apartment because I have no guarantor.” “I’m worried about living alone.” For people in these situations, a housing company (HOPE HOME) and a home-visit nursing company (HOPE) work together to support you, from finding a home to checking in after you move in.

We welcome inquiries from people who:

  • have no home to return to after leaving the hospital
  • have no guarantor or no family to rely on
  • find it hard to pass a rent guarantee company’s screening
  • receive public welfare assistance (seikatsu hogo)
  • worry about their health while living alone
  • find it hard to cover move-in costs or furniture and appliances
Daily life

Ordinary independent living,
with one more layer of reassurance.

Mimamoru-ie is not a care facility. You live in your own apartment, at your own pace. What we add is nursing check-ins and someone to contact when you need help.

Every day

Live at your own pace

Your home is an ordinary rental apartment. Go out and shop as you like.

Visit days

Nurses and therapists visit

Checking how you are, helping with medication, practicing movement and more, as often as you need it.

When you need help

Someone to call

If your health changes or something worries you, you have a set contact. We are also preparing a way to consult at night.

With your family

Keeping them informed

If you wish, we can let family members who live far away know how you are doing.

Check-ins & care

From “noticed too late”
to “noticed in time.”

What landlords worry about most is not rent, but a sudden change in the health of a tenant who lives alone. At Mimamoru-ie, what matters most to us is never letting the connection to healthcare and welfare services break.

1

Check-ins at least twice a week

As a rule, a nurse or other staff member visits your room at least twice a week to check on your health and daily life, so anything out of the ordinary can be noticed early.

2

Through hospital stays, too

If you are admitted to hospital, we keep track, as far as needed, of where you are and when you are expected to be discharged, and coordinate with the hospital and your care team so that life at home can start again afterwards.

3

Right through to the end

For those without family, our company serves as the emergency contact. For those who need it, we also offer, at move-in, a contract for procedures after death (posthumous affairs). We leave no gap in responsibility.

You choose your own nursing provider and care manager

The purpose of Mimamoru-ie is not to rent out rooms or to increase the number of home-visit nursing clients. If you would prefer a home-visit nursing provider other than HOPE, we respect that choice. However, so that you can live safely, there needs to be a setup that follows our “coordination rules,” such as checking on your condition and letting us know about hospital admissions and discharges. If the same setup can be provided through a combination of other providers, your care manager and home-help services, that is fine.

Homes & costs

About homes and costs

We do not choose a room on preferred conditions alone. We hear about your health and daily life from nurses, rehabilitation staff, care managers and support counselors, and choose together by asking, “Can you keep living safely in this home?” We also check things like steps, ease of movement and whether a care bed will fit.

Rent

Rent varies by apartment. If you receive public welfare assistance, we help you look within the housing allowance.

Guarantee

Even if you find it hard to pass a rent guarantee company’s screening, you may be able to move in with HOPE HOME acting as joint guarantor (subject to screening; please ask us). Planned fees for our group’s guarantee, “Mimamoru Guarantee”: 50% of the monthly rent and related charges at the start, and 1,000 yen per month on renewal. The fee is the same whether or not you use our home-visit nursing.

Move-in costsIn preparation

So that no one has to give up a needed move simply because they lack money. First, we work with you to use public programs such as public assistance (seikatsu hogo). Support for when that is still not enough (help covering costs up front) is in preparation, and we are checking the relevant rules.

Furniture & appliancesIn preparation

We are preparing rentals for those who need them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I move into Mimamoru-ie now?

We are still in preparation and are starting on a small scale. When we have apartments we can introduce, we list them under “Find a home.” Please feel free to contact us first.

Is it different from a care facility or nursing home?

Yes. You live in an ordinary rental apartment under your own name, with home-visit nursing and other check-ins added on top.

Which areas can I look in?

So that our nurses can reach you quickly, we are currently focusing on Abeno, Nishinari, Sumiyoshi and Higashi-Sumiyoshi Wards of Osaka City and nearby areas.

Do I have to use HOPE’s home-visit nursing to live there?

No. If you would prefer another home-visit nursing provider, we respect that. However, there needs to be a setup that follows our “coordination rules” for safety, such as checking on your condition and letting us know about hospital admissions and discharges.

What if I don’t have a guarantor?

Even if you find it hard to pass a rent guarantee company’s screening, you may be able to move in with HOPE HOME acting as joint guarantor. Screening is required, so please talk to us first.

Can I ask for help if I receive public welfare assistance?

Yes. We will help you look for an apartment within the housing allowance.
